Linda Hall
Photography is my thing. I love the magic of capturing a fleeting moment and sharing it with others. Photography has taught me to see, to notice things I might otherwise miss.
After taking a painting class with different media, I realize that the painting process is a deeper dive into getting to know and appreciate a subject (the way the light falls across it, the details, the essence). Initially I thought pastels were very messy and didn’t know why anyone would want to use them. And then I fell in love with them. I love the immediacy of the mark-making and the vibrancy of the colors.
Animals are my favorite subject. They are so honest and genuine. I wonder what they are thinking. I particularly like doing pet portraits. I feel a special kinship with their owners when I deliver the finished product.
I do dabble in other subjects. Whatever catches my eye. From landscapes to trucks, bottles to buildings, I never know what my next subject will be.
