Vermont Pastel Society Member Exhibit – Pastel Music
The Central Vermont Hub of the Vermont Pastel Society is happy to host a membership exhibit for September and October of 2021. Here is the known information:
Location: T.W. Wood Art Gallery and Museum; Barre Street, Montpelier, VT
Exhibit Time: September 4 – October 30, 2021
Title: Pastel Music
When a painting comes together beautifully, it seems to make its own music. Let your pastels sing! Music does not need to be the subject of your painting, but let the art be music to the eyes.
Drop-Off Date: September 4, 2021 (Saturday) 12 Noon – 1:30 PM
Pick-Up Date: October 30, 2021 (Saturday) 12 Noon – 1:30 PM
Opening Reception Date & Time: September 10 – 5:00-7:00 PM
Installation: Work should be wired on the back so it can be hung with our hanging system
Registration: (Deadline: Friday, August 6, 2021)
To register for the exhibit, you must complete a Google Form, link below, which allows you to submit 3 pieces of art for the exhibit. You must submit your 3 pieces in priority of hanging order. If we do not have room for all 3, we will start with your first entry, then your second, etc.
You have until August 6, 2021 to submit your art. Once received, we will calculate the space available to us at the gallery and let you know how many pieces of art we can accept from each of you on installation day.

Exhibition to Take Down: October 30, 2021
Opening Reception Date & Time: Pending decision – DO NOT anticipate to coordinate with Artwalk
Montpelier Artwalk Date: N/A (Montpelier Artwalk is every even-numbered month, first Friday, except during COVID)
Delivery, Pickup, & Installation: Please contact the Gallery if you cannot deliver, hang your work or pick-up the work on these dates.
Installation: Work should be wired on the back so it can be hung with our hanging system.
Announcements and Public Relations: The Gallery will create a press release that will be distributed to local media outlets, our newsletter email list, Facebook and local Front Porch Forum. Please share information about the exhibit to your Facebook friends etc. Hard-copy postcard invitations can be created at the exhibitors’ request and expense.
Terms of Sale: There will be a commission to the T. W. Wood Gallery of 40% of the retail price on all artists’ work sold, as listed on the contract, during the dates of exhibition. The artist will receive 60% from the sale.
Condition of Payment: Full payment will be made directly to the T. W. Wood Gallery. Following full payment for the work and conclusion of the exhibition, the Director will send the appropriate 60% payment to the artists within three weeks of the close of the exhibit. The Gallery agrees to provide the artist with the name and address of anyone who purchases work.
Artist participation: We encourage artists’ participation to attend the exhibit opening reception and Montpelier Art Walk. We hold Art Talks on Art Walk evenings with exhibiting artists speaking. [N/A during COVID, but we’ll keep in touch as restrictions loosen.]
