Linda Masten is an artist who resides in Bennington, VT. She enjoys the great outdoors and paints en Plein Air whenever the opportunity arises. Though she had always worked in oils, she became intrigued with the works of the pastel painters during some of these Plein Air outings when she wintered in Florida. After one pastel workshop, she fell in love with this medium and the beauty of the colors a great pastel painting can create.

She loves to paint Vermont and New England landscapes and seascapes and tells everyone, “There is a painting around every corner”.

She has studied Pastel Painting with award winning artists Liz Haywood-Sullivan, PSA-MP, IAPS/MC; Margaret Dyer, PSA-M, IAPS/MC; Robert K. Cartsen, PSA-M, IAPS-MC, CPS, Jeanne Rosier Smith, PSA, ASMA, IAPS/MC; Desmond O’Hagan, PSA-M, IAPS-MC, EP; Alain Picard; Dawn Emerson; Jacob Aguiar; Doug Dawson, PSA-M; IAPS/MC.   She has also studied Oil Painting with award winning artists Hiu Lai Chong and Andrew Orr.

Linda is a member of the Vermont Pastel Society, Southwest Florida Pastel Society, and Southern Vermont Arts Center.
